San Clemente Preschools and Elementary Schools
Clarence
Lobo Elementary School (Preschool - 5) - Public
Clarence Lobo Elementary School opened its doors in September 1994 and
is the first school in California to be named after a Native American.
Clarence Lobo was chief of the Juaneño Band of Mission Indians
for nearly four decades until his death in 1985. Chief Lobo devoted his
life to acquiring land rights and recognition for his people. At our school’s
dedication, the Juaneños paid tribute to their beloved leader through
a special ceremony. Our students and staff remain inspired by the spirit
of this great man and are proud to help maintain his legacy.
Concordia
Elementary School (K - 5) - Public
Concordia Elementary School is located on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific
Ocean in the seaside community of San Clemente. Founded in 1955, Concordia
is rich in history, tradition, and culture. A recent survey determined
that nearly ten percent of Concordia’s parents attended the school as
students themselves. Former Concordia students are prominent in San Clemente
community affairs and maintain a vested interest in Concordia Elementary
School. An active Parent Teacher Association supports and enhances the
instructional program.
Las Palmas
Elementary School (Preschool - 5) - Public
The mission of Las Palmas Elementary School, in partnership with our parents
and the community, is to empower students to achieve the highest academic,
social and linguistic skills needed to give them an edge now and in the
future. As a result, Las Palmas is proud to be recognized as a California
Distinguished School.
Marblehead
Elementary School (K - 5) - Public
Aloha! Welcome to Marblehead Elementary School. Marblehead opened its
doors in fall 2001. The long-awaited campus houses approximately 540 students.
Situated on the highlands in northern San Clemente adjacent to a neighborhood
park, Capistrano Unified’s first two-story elementary school is of a unique
design. Glimpses of the ocean can be viewed from several locations.
Our Lady
of Fatima (Preschool - 8) - Private
We are delighted that you are considering Our Lady of Fatima Catholic
School for your son or daughter. Our mission is to nurture individuals
to discover their God-given gifts, to encourage them to use these gifts
in the service of others, and to empower them to be models of integrity
and peacemakers who work for justice. We—parents, school staff, and parish
community—collaborate in striving for excellence in the education of our
children. We expect students who graduate from OLF School to be Christ-like
and faith-filled, competent and confident, honest and respectful, appreciative
and creative, and cooperative and healthy. We look forward to working
together with you in helping your child grow toward these goals.
Our
Savior's Lutheran School (Preschool - 6) - Private
At Our Savior’s Lutheran School you will find qualified, caring teachers
who will not only educate your child in challenging ways, but will also
set an example of how each child may live out his or her faith. Where
our children go to school is important. Not so they can attain status,
wealth and power, but so they can learn academically and grow in Godly
character. Our Savior’s is such a place.
Truman Benedict
Elementary School (K - 5) - Public
Truman Benedict Elementary School sits in the inland foothills of
San Clemente, a community next to the sea. The foothills surrounding the
school are filling with many new homes, and a new community is emerging.
Our student population is expected to increase for the next two years.
Benedict was established in 1988 and named after Truman Benedict, the
first superintendent of Capistrano Unified School District. He still plays
an important role in San Clemente. Our school history is a part of the
community’s history.
